HHC Cannabinoid Effects: What to Expect

HHC is a relatively recent addition to the hemp industry. But did you know that HHC was already discovered in 1944 by an American chemist, Roger Adams?

In this article, we’ll talk about HHC and HHC cannabinoid effects. It is the perfect introduction for those curious to experiment with this lesser-known cannabinoid.

Tip: While you’re at it, why not try a few of our HHC-infused recipes?

What is HHC?

Numerous cannabinoids, which are compounds that naturally exist in plants, are present in cannabis and hemp plants. Examples of cannabinoids include THC and CBD. Hexahydrocannabinol, or HHC, is another cannabinoid that occurs naturally in small amounts in the hemp plant. Cannabinoids may also be created artificially through a chemical process.

The structures of HHC and Delta 9 THC are almost identical, but HHC doesn’t have a double bond in the cyclohexyl ring. This makes it a hydrogenated version of Delta 9 THC. Since the cannabinoid is only found in small amounts, it is synthesized in labs, where it can be mass-produced.

What Are the Most Common HHC Cannabinoid Effects?

Unfortunately, research documenting HHC cannabinoid effects is rare. To date, cannabinoid research has mostly focused on CBD and THC. Much of the information that is now available on HHC is speculative, similar to how recent increases in interest in other cannabinoids haven’t kept pace with thorough investigations into their safety and effects.

According to initial research, HHC seems to have a safety profile similar to THC and its reported effects are equivalent to those brought on by large doses of THC.

The potential anti-nausea, anti-inflammatory, antidepressant, and analgesic properties of THC have been the subject of a significant amount of research. Because HHC works on the same receptors in the brain as THC, it is speculated that HHC may share these properties. But more evidence is needed to determine whether this is actually the case.

The following are possible HHC cannabinoid side-effects:

  • Anxiety
  • Dizziness
  • Red eyes
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Increased appetite
  • Dry mouth
  • Paranoia

What is the Ideal HHC Dose?

The recommended dosage depends on a number of variables, including age, weight, and levels of tolerance. As a novice HHC user, you may not yet be aware of your tolerance level. As a general rule, its strength falls somewhere between the more relaxed delta 8 and the stronger delta 9 THC highs.

Always try a small amount until you’re familiar with the sensation and how your system responds to it. It is preferable to start with a tiny dosage or even a microdose if you are completely unfamiliar with THC or other cannabinoids before progressively increasing it to higher doses. 10 to 20 mg per serving is considered a low dose, making it a good starting point.

How Do You Choose the Right HHC Product for You?

Choosing a high-quality product is crucial when you decide to buy HHC products. Search for HHC products made by a legitimate company that produces high-quality cannabinoid products. Additionally, look for products that have been third-party tested, which means they have undergone testing by an independent lab with a certificate of analysis or lab report that is publicly available.

It’s best to start with a tiny dose of HHC when using it for the first time and then increase it later if desired. By doing this, you reduce your chance of going overboard.

Final Thoughts: HHC Cannabinoid Effects

HHC, a hydrogenated form of THC, appears to be comparable in strength and effect to THC, but with the added benefit of an extended shelf-life. This is because it is more UV and heat-resistant than THC. Despite the lack of research on HHC’s safety, there is no evidence that it is more harmful than THC.

Anecdotal claims suggest that HHC cannabinoid effects may be similar to that of THC, although there is still very little research to back these claims. But we’re hopeful that this will soon change as HHC becomes more popular in the CBD community.

Every new cannabinoid that emerges gives us something fresh, but it’s always advisable to exercise care if you want to take HHC or anything else with limited research.
